As a native Spanish-speaking Florida real estate attorney who has called Central Florida home for more than 40 years, Owner Partner Ed Hamann recognized the strong ties between Puerto Rico and Florida, where many U.S. Puerto Ricans reside. To address this need, Ed led the Title Security Group's expansion into Florida.
Ed’s distinguished career spans more than 25 years, including experience at two of the nation’s largest title insurance underwriters, serving as Florida Senior Underwriting Counsel and Chief International Underwriting Counsel for the Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Caribbean markets. Ed has also served as the head underwriter for Mexico's only authorized title insurance company.
After authoring the widely adopted Puerto Rico Underwriting Manuals for some of the largest title insurance underwriters in the country, Ed's expertise and international experience—which extends to Anguilla, the Bahamas, Brazil, the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, Costa Rica, Panama, and the Dominican Republic—has made him a highly sought-after legal consultant. He has spoken extensively on real estate and title-related matters to members of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar and licensed title agents throughout the state, with a focus on fraud, foreign ownership of land, surveys and legal descriptions, homestead, and liens that affect title.
Ed Hamann is an active member of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law and International Law Sections of The Florida Bar. He received a Juris Doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, a Master of Science in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from the University of Central Florida, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Rollins College.
